PUMC Youth Camp 2014

Youth Camp is something our family looks forward to every year.
It's probably the biggest part of our summer.
There is so much preparation and prayer that takes place for this event each year.
We could plan all day long and drive ourselves crazy, but the truth is if God isn't present at camp then camp is a complete failure.
God shows himself faithful every year.
This year was no exception.
There is something about being under a big white tent with no distractions that helps you really focus and hear God's voice. Thankfully God's work doesn't end when we leave the big white tent. We pray every year that we would hold on to fact that God is with us every day. He hears every prayer. In the midst of our craziness He is there!
We give God all the glory and honor for what took place at camp this year.
His grace is enough for us!
Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying their time at camp.

The biggest blessing about being a part of this camp is the Wesley Jones Olympics.
Wesley Jones is my uncle!
I remember when I was a little child Uncle Wesley would talk about youth camp.
He even said he could not wait for me to be old enough to attend.
Unfortunately he was killed in a car wreck when I was eight years old.
They named the olympics that we do at camp after him.
He created most of the games we still play today. They were made for those who are athletic and for those who are not. He wanted everyone to be able to participate.
Little did we know that my husband would be youth pastor at the same church and running the same camp years after Uncle Wesley died.
This year Uncle Wesley had his two nieces, his great niece, and his great nephew attending youth camp and participating in the very games he formed many years ago.
God has a sense of humor folks!!!
