It's my BiRtHdAy!!!!

I'll be honest…
growing up we didn't celebrate birthdays in a real big way.
We had occasional parties,
but it mainly centered around getting the family together and eating a meal.
That's what we still do in our family.
Here's a sign times are changing…
This year I opted for my mom to keep our children, so Kyle and I could go out…
instead of a family party.
She was thrilled!
It's so hard to get us all together for every.single.birthday.
I have to say we do a pretty good job at it though.
With that being said…
my birthdays are pretty "low key."
And yes…my best friend, Lindsey…she doesn't understand that.
She likes to have EXTRAVAGANT birthday celebrations every year.
That's why we are friends.

Anyways, since today is my birthday I thought we could celebrate on the blog by me posting some facts about myself. Most of you know them all, but some of you may not.
I'm not sure how many there are below,
but i'll just keep typing till there's nothing else you need to know.
Here we go…

-I married one of my best friend's from high school. Little did I know he was the one God choose for me. If fact I told him I would never marry him when we were in high school…
(Insert here…I'm honest…and sometimes it sounds mean.)
I am so thankful for Kyle Barfield.
He is more than I could EVER ask for in a husband.
God is faithful!

-I love Chick-fil-a sweet tea!
It can change my mood in a flash.

- I am the shortest child in my family.
Apparently 6'3" is the average height on the Jones side of the family.
I miss the average my three inches.

-I LOVE hymns.
They make my heart happy.

-My favorite colors are blue and yellow.

-I am not a picky eater.

-I only drink water from a water bottle.
I do not drink tap water.

- I love Mentos.
(the mint flavor)
When I was pregnant with Mary Wesley, I craved Mentos all the time.
I bought them in bulk at Sams.
I still keep them in my car and purse.
The craving never left.

-I am in love with the Creator of the Universe who has blessed me in more ways than I could have EVER imagined. He is my Beloved, Sustainer, Father. My EVERYTHING.

So there you have it…some facts about me.
I can't believe next  year I will be thirty years old.
Where has the time gone?!?!

I am looking forward to this next year!
I am blessed beyond measure.
Here's to the next year of my life…

Thanks for stopping by!
I will have a recap of my birthday later on.

Every Day with the Barfields

Last week both of my children had Hand Foot Mouth Disease!
Gross…
They were both so miserable.
Ok, I was too!
We made it through.
Lindsey texted me…remember…
"This too shall pass."
Mind you…she was laying on a beautiful beach with all her family!
Yea, I just wanted to say "Hush, and just sip your fruity slush, and let me cry!"
She was right though.
Most of the pictures from last week hint to us being closed up in our home, isolated from the world in hopes that it didn't spread to anyone else.
Here are the photos from the last seven days!

Day 134- This was pretty much what my children ate the whole time they were sick.
Healthy right? I don't care…they eat their fruits and veggies when they are well.

Day 135- This is…Good night…the phone was not with me all day.

Day 136- We finally broke out of the house to get this boy a blue jump rope.
He has been wanting one for a while.

Day 137- "I'm Free!!!"
Mom and I ran a 5K Saturday morning.
It was so much fun!

Day 138- I forgot to take a picture, so here's a knot on a log!

Day 139- My crew was all stripes this day!

Day 140-  Konrad's reading his dad a book!

Have a good rest of the week folks!

Every Day with the Barfields (Double Edition)

I've been slacking again!
I will get better at keeping up with this!
(Or at least I will keep telling myself that!)
Here's a look at some days from the past.

Day 120- We try to read our bible story from the Jesus Storybook Bible every day!
Sometimes it's not till nighttime, but it's just doing it that counts!
We really love this book for little ones and ourselves!

Day 121- These two love getting up to watch early morning cartoons.

Day 122- I don't know about you all, but the allergies hit our house hard this year!
I can't wait for them to be over!

Day 123- We had a fun day at Lanes with Aunt Katie.
She came and stayed with us while Kyle was out of town.
You can see all the fun things we did while she was here.
Just click here

Day 124- Here's a Sunday Funday picture of me and Mary Wesley.

Day 125- Happy Birthday to my brother, Nash!
You can check out his birthday post here

Day 126- Konrad brought me home this beautiful necklace from play school.
He was so proud of it.
I wore it all night!

Day 127- This was Avoly's last high school girls bible study!
We will miss her next year!

Day 128- This box of clothes are on their way to children who need them in another country!
I was blessed just to help in small way for this project.

Day 129- Mom's night out eating mexican food then going to see the movie "Mom's Night Out" with my bible study ladies from PUMC.
It was a little cheesy, but cute!
As always a night with other moms is fun no matter what!

Day 130- These two were worn slap out after attending two birthday parties in one day!
Love these kiddos!

Day 131- I am so thankful to be the mom of these two!

Day 132- I did all seven loads of Wesley's laundry.
I told him "Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas".
That's one gift I can check off for Christmas.
I mean he has a washer and dryer at school!
Never again…I learned my lesson!

Day 133- It was light outside, and I was in bed!
I will tell you why later!

That's it for now!
I'm working on a list of things for the kids and I to do this summer.
I'll be posting it soon.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week!
As always…be thankful for each day!
It's a gift from the Lord!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
For all you Mothers…Happy Mother's Day (yesterday)!
We have a lot going on in the month of May!
I have a bittersweet relationship with the month of May.

1. It's my birthday month.
2. It's my brother's birthday month.
3. It's my stepdad's birthday month.
4. It's my gran's birthday month.
5. It's my best friend's birthday month.
6. It's number 3's birthday month.
7. It's Mother's Day month.
8. It's when we say goodbye to our youth who are Seniors.
9. It's when we soak up as much time with Kyle, because we know the summer is starting.
We share him with lots of children and youth during the summer!
10.It's when the pool opens, and we swim like fish.
11. It's when we spend our nights outside after supper playing in the baby pool and watering all our beautiful potted plants that Kyle planted.
12. It's when Uncle Wesley and Shelly come home from college, and I get the privilege of washing 11 loads of Uncle Wes's laundry. (this is not a joke)
13. It's when Konrad gets to spend time with Uncle Wes watering and tending to our garden.
14. It's the month that our grocery bill is sky high, because there are lots of kids and college kids at our house all the time. (And I love it!)
15. It's when school ends, and me and my teacher friend, Molly, make ourselves STOP and spend time with each other.
16. It's when I start buying and planning all kinds of non-costly (Is that a word? You know what I mean!) things for Konrad and Mary Wesley to do while Daddy is out of town, and we need things to fill our days.
17. It's when we get to spend some time at the beach with the Barfields!

There you have it.
This is how our May goes.
In one blink, summer will be over, and we will be gearing up for school to start again.
So I make a choice to "stop and smell the roses."
I hope that in the midst of school winding down, graduations, vacations, etc. that you will stop and make memories today.
Thank God for allowing you to get up and live another day for Him.
Have a great week everyone!

"My feet don't have a prayer"

This past weekend my aunt came to stay with me and kids while Kyle was out of town.
I told her a while back to put it on her calendar, and she did.
She has been really busy, so a week ago I texted to make sure she still could come.
Thankfully, she said yes! The kids and I were so excited!
I started thinking about all the things we could do to spend time with her while she was here.
Immediately, I thought about the Strawberry Patch at Lanes Southern Orchard
We didn't get to go last year, so I wanted to make sure to take Konrad and Mary Wesley this year.
So we decided this was the time to go.
The weather was beautiful.
Here's some pictures for you to enjoy!

Konrad picking strawberries.

Mary Wesley picked her fair share of strawberries too!

Mary Wesley's first trip to the Strawberry Patch!

I think she likes it!

Then this happened. She figured out what they were and bit right in…not just one…but two!

YUM!

"What? Did I do something I wasn't suppose to?"

Her brother joined in!

Yummy!

Silly!

Me and my littles!

Driving Miss Daisy!!!

Always have to drive the tractors!

Just a swinging…

Watching the ducks!

I love this picture! We are enjoying watching these two become best friends.
I can't wait for all the fun times ahead!

Thanks for coming to stay with us, Aunt Katie!
We had so much fun!
Love you!

P.S. You'll have to ask her about the title of this post! :)

Happy Birthday, Nash!

Happy, happy Birthday, Nash…Uncle Nash!
We love you so much!
I have ten things you may or may not know about my brother, Nash!

1. Nash is 6'7". T-A-L-L
2. Nash does everything 100%.
3. With that being said…he LOVES 100%.
4. Nash will make the best husband and dad when the time is right.
5. Nash is extremely smart, analyzes EVERYTHING, and is very serious.
6. Nash looks after everyone in our family.
7. Nash absolutely HATES being hot in the car.
8. Nash looks at his deer on the wall and Kyle's deer on the wall
every single time he comes in our house.
9. Nash loves playing basketball.
10. I am Nash's favorite sister. :)

There are so many things I could say about Nash. I will never forget someone telling me that the Lord would use Nash's height in a very unique way his whole life. I won't go into detail, but just think…when you see a guy having to duck every three seconds while he walks through a certain area…it  causes you to think and talk about how tall he is. It's just the way the Lord made him.
I can't wait to see what the Lord does in Nash's life this year.
I have a feeling it's going to be one of the best ones yet.

We hope you have an awesome day, Nash!
Happy Birthday!
Here's some pictures for your special day!
Enjoy!
